Why Building and Maintaining Lean Muscle is Essential for Women Over 40.

Why do we need to build lean muscle and maintain it? What is the hype behind being strong? The benefits of weight-bearing exercises go far beyond appearance. They are crucial for your health, particularly as you age.

As a woman now over 50,soon to being my 60's, I make sure to get my water, amino acids, hydration supplements, and Creatine before heading to the gym. Fueling my body is important, but this isn't about what I consume—it's about the workout itself.

I warm up to get my head in the zone and my muscles filled with blood and oxygen. Okay, let's go!


Why Weight Training?

For me, exercising satisfies my need to move and calms my nervous system. It also gives me a sense of accomplishment by completing a challenging task. But there's so much more to it than that.

  3. Strengthens Bones: Weight-bearing exercises are key to maintaining bone density, which is crucial for preventing osteoporosis.

  4. Reduces Body Fat: Building muscle helps in reducing body fat, giving you a leaner, more toned appearance.

  5. Improves Skin Firmness: Increased muscle mass can also help keep your skin firm and youthful.


Make It a Habit

Incorporate workouts into your daily and weekly schedule. Your body, mind, and overall well-being will be grateful. Love yourself by maintaining a "weight of love." And remember, weight training can be done at home or outdoors if the gym isn't your thing. Once you get into the momentum, remember to progress and keep pushing yourself safely.
